Hi, I'm Dr. Haesook Han — a pianist and educator with over 30 years of teaching experience, based in Lexington, Massachusetts.
I hold a PhD in Music Composition from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a Master's from Manhattan School of Music in New York City, where I studied both composition and piano.
My approach combines rigorous classical training with an understanding of each student's unique musical journey. I specialize in preparing students for the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) examinations at every level.

Not at all! I welcome students of every level — from complete beginners to advanced pianists. We start exactly where you are and build from there.
I teach students ages 6 and up, as well as adults. It's never too early or too late to start learning piano.
The Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) exam is an internationally recognized certification program. I prepare students by working through the required repertoire, technical requirements (scales, chords, arpeggios), ear training, and sight-reading at their level. We create a structured timeline so students feel fully prepared on exam day.

I ask for at least 24 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations and no-shows are charged the full session fee or one pack credit. Life happens — just reach out as soon as you can.
Yes, on a case-by-case basis! I'm happy to travel to your home for lessons. A surcharge of 10–30% applies depending on location. Reach out and we can discuss whether this is a good fit.
Yes — regular practice between lessons is essential for progress. A digital piano with weighted keys works well for beginners. I'm happy to provide recommendations based on your budget.
